Some days call for comfort. Others crave adventure. On the toughest shifts, what people really need is sustained energy that carries them through without crashing. And on any given day, who couldn't use a little treat?

We've built our workplace food services around this understanding: When employees have access to food variety that satisfies their real cravings, whether that's nostalgia, excitement, nourishment or pure indulgence, they perform better. Morale improves. Productivity climbs. And the workplace becomes a place people actually want to be. It’s what sets us apart from a typical employee cafeteria.

Here's how we turn everyday cravings into workplace results:

Comfort: Familiar Favorites That Boost Morale

Comfort food isn't just about taste; it's about ease and satisfaction during demanding shifts. When employees can rely on dishes that feel like home, morale gets a quiet but powerful lift.

Our Kitchen serves an array of homemade meals spanning comfort-style cuisines, like The Gobbler Pot Pie Bake, a warm, golden flaky pastry crust filled with savory sage-roasted turkey and fall vegetables in a creamy herb sauce. It's the kind of dish that makes a tough day feel a little more manageable. Our Not Your Ordinary Holiday Crunch Wrap — a holiday-inspired griddled tortilla filled with sage turkey, herb stuffing, cranberry sauce, and cheddar cheese — delivers comfort with a seasonal twist.

Even our Salad Bar rotation gets in on the action with heartwarming soups, chilis and chowders that offer the reassurance of familiar flavors. These meals remind employees they're valued. That simple reassurance translates directly into better engagement and focus.

Adventure: Globally Inspired Menu Variety That Keeps Things Fresh

Menu fatigue is real, and it quietly drains enthusiasm. When employees see the same rotation week after week, food stops being something they look forward to and starts becoming just another thing to get through.

That's where adventure comes in. Our Chef's Table offers a daily rotation of chef-curated, globally inspired culinary concepts that keep things exciting. Our LTOs (limited time offers) bring seasonal dishes and theme days throughout the year, while our Tastes That Take You Places campaign showcases our chefs' personal stories through dishes that connect to their own traditions and memories.

Recent favorites include culinary ambassador Michael Symon’s Symon Says Meatball Parm (ricotta and beef meatballs, marinara, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil on a hoagie roll) and The Big Fat Greek Burger (juicy chargrilled herb and coriander spiced beef patties stuffed in a pita with lettuce, tomato and creamy tzatziki sauce). Seasonal menu additions feature dishes like the Chilaquiles Breakfast Bowl and Latin American Breakfast Bowl, bold flavors with stories behind them.

Our menus prevent burnout and signal to employees that their workplace cares about variety and quality. When the menu stays interesting, so does the workday.

Fuel: Nutritious, Balanced Meals and Food Variety That Support Productivity

This is where science meets strategy. Chronic diseases can be mitigated, and even prevented, by prioritizing nutrient-rich, wholesome foods. There's a direct correlation between diet quality and positive outcomes like improved productivity, attendance and enhanced resilience in the workplace.

Not your average employee cafeteria, Kitchen Works' approach focuses on two key strategies: menu design and marketing nudges. Our "works for you" dishes are built with complete proteins, energizing ingredients and satisfying portions. Think eggs, sustainable meats, healthy fats and plant-powered powerhouses, all designed to help guests stay fuller longer while enjoying big flavor.

Our Grab & Go section features hot and cold, freshly prepackaged foods designed to keep employees energized throughout the day, including sandwiches, salads, protein bowls, sushi, and an assortment of all-day snacks. For breakfast, Power Egg Hash Bites deliver protein-packed egg bites with savory turkey sausage and wilted spinach. The Kickstarter Wrap, a flour tortilla stuffed with spice-roasted sweet potatoes, black bean garden burger, scrambled egg and pico de gallo, offers plant-powered fuel that works.

Effective messaging also encourages better choices, making nutritious foods more accessible and inspiring behavior change that contributes to improved well-being.

"Evidence-based worksite wellness programs focused on nutritious food options and behavior change nudges can positively impact workers' health, reduce disease risk and improve productivity," says Micheline D. Cormier, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. "This approach is core to Kitchen Works' purpose."

Treat: Indulgence That Makes Employees Feel Valued

Balance isn't just nutritional, it's emotional, too. The ability to indulge creates joy and communicates something important: Employee preferences matter here.

Our Bakery features delicious desserts including cookies, bars, cakes, pies, warm crumbles and bread pudding that turn an ordinary break into something special. Even treats like the Choco-Nut Oat Cup — a creamy, energizing cup of yogurt and chia overnight oats with cocoa, dried cranberries, bananas and peanuts — satisfies sweet cravings while still delivering nutrition.

When employees feel seen and valued, they bring that energy back to their work.

Flexibility: Meeting Employees Where They Are

Not every day fits neatly into a category. Sometimes what employees need is simply choice and the ability to pick what feels right in the moment. That's why we offer everything — an extensive burger selection at the Grill, a bountiful Salad Bar, exciting global flavors at the Kitchen.

A varied, flexible menu improves satisfaction and creates a culture where food becomes a genuine workplace benefit, not an afterthought. When your team has access to food variety that meets them where they are — comfort, adventure, fuel or joy — productivity and morale follow.
